I’ve been following the White Coat Waste Project for a while and have been very impressed with their work.
Some things they have exposed surprised me, others shocked me, and this one blew me away, although upon reflection I should have expected something like this.

You heard that right. The federal government has been transing the mice, monkeys, and rats. Because…well, why not? You can get funding for it, right? You can get funding for anything these days, as long as there is a kickback for somebody important.
As a side note, you should know that the universities through which these insane experiments are done get enormous fees for hosting the grant recipients. Often 50% or more is skimmed off the top as “administrative fees,” so every time you hear about some insane grant that funds something stupid, know that you are funding lots of other stupid things.
Even good grants for good science are looted, paying for administrators, DEI crap, and every stupid thing you hear about in academia.
Of course, this particular example isn’t just stupid but needlessly cruel as well. Are we saving transgender monkeys from committing suicide, as the alphabet people claim is true for the poor children they mutilate?
Do transgender monkeys participate in “chemsex?” Is there some burning need for us to know what castrated monkeys do when forced to take date rape drugs?

All this came out at an Oversight Committee hearing on animal experimentation, and you can’t have a conversation about such things without discussing Anthony Fauci’s infamous experiments on beagle puppies. He funded experiments on beagles that were nothing short of torture for no discernable benefit to either humans or dogs.

Some of the beagles who were saved after the experiments were exposed were brought to the committee hearing.

I have no idea what happened to the transgender mice, monkeys, and rats, but I doubt they had as happy an ending as these lucky dogs.
I have a hard time conceiving what could possibly go through the minds of people who think these experiments up, the people who decide to fund them, and the people who do them.
They are pretty clearly sociopaths. What else can explain it?
