Chattanooga Churches Promote Illegal Alien Asylum, Violence Against the Government

Two Chattanooga churches recently made national news for controversial sermons advocating for the harboring of illegal aliens and promoting violence over the government audits being conducted by President Trump’s DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) task force.

First up, Deven Wallace, the female co-lead pastor of the megachurch Redemption to the Nations Church, gave a controversial speech in a clip that went viral for its promotion of sympathy for illegal aliens, proudly promoting that members of the church are adopting illegal children, and twisting Scripture to justify that foreigners in a nation somehow hold the same status, rights, and regard as its native citizens.

Wallace admits, “I know that open borders lead to trafficking, labor trafficking, sex trafficking, it’s why we have to have pathways that are clear and safe,” but then seemingly negates that point as she continues, “But it will never erase the fact that we have foreigners in our community that are not a threat. They are not breaking the law, they are not harmful to others.” The Tennessee Conservative’s thorough reporting on the issue would beg to differ.

But the hypocrisy doesn’t end there.

Not the Bee, the national news companion of the satire site The Babylon Bee, cited previous articles from The Tennessee Conservative reporting that the church enabled illegal immigration and child sexual abuse (knowingly or unknowingly) when they leased their property to Progressive Investment Group, LLC who then sublet it to Baptiste Group, who ultimately turned it into an illegal migrant shelter where it was discovered employees were sexually assaulting migrant children who had been smuggled in. Then the church was sued for $3 million in unpaid rent.

Not the Bee summed up the absurdity perfectly, Because nothing says good works like collecting kids from Biden’s border crisis. We love woke virtue-signaling. Does she not realize that the act of illegal immigration itself is… well… illegal (it’s in the name), thereby making anyone who commits it a criminal by law?”

But a second church in Chattanooga apparently felt left out from the limelight.

Across town at Greater Second Missionary Baptist Church, senior reverend Steve Caudle had a different bone to pick as he spoke to his congregation about the government audits being led by Elon Musk and the DOGE team. The DOGE has uncovered millions of dollars of waste and fraud, some payments even funding terrorist organizations. But Caudle doesn’t seem to care.

Instead, Caudle believes the Trump Administration and Elon Musk have led this nation to the “verge of bloodshed.”

He warned, “Sometimes violence is necessary. When Elon Musk forces his way into the United States Treasury and threatens to steal your personal information and your social security check, there is a possibility of violence. Sometimes the devil will act so ugly that you have no other choice but to get violent and fight.”

In fact, Musk is operating completely legally as a temporary government employee under the Executive Branch, and has all rights to access Treasury data, including Social Security information, to weed out illegitimate payments.

The church’s website is currently unavailable, showing it as “Under Construction”, but Caudle did speak to Fox News Chattanooga, where he stated that he does not regret his words, though he claims they were taken out of context. I never called for violence against Elon Musk, and he [Hamilton County Mayor Weston Wamp] knows that it’s propaganda. They take things, they twist it, they only play portions of a particular sermon in order to push their propaganda,” he said.

It remains unclear how Caudle’s words could have been misinterpreted, especially given his espousal of disinformation regarding Musk’s actions. Musk also responded to the video clip on X, saying, “This tells me he is trying to hide MASSIVE fraud.”

For a state that is often touted as conservative, despite its RINO leadership, some of its churches seem to be wildly out of touch with the core values many of its citizens hold dear.
