Dear Editor
LOOKS like the natives are getting restless in the Labour party. It has finally dawned on them that their future election prospects are none too good with Sir Keir.
It is very hard to tell if this is good news or bad news for the rest of us. We want him gone. But could it be even worse?
One of the favourites to replace him is the jolly green giant, welcome back to the Dark Ages, Ed Miliband. Or perhaps we will have the multi-not-talented and incoherent David Lammy, Tottenham’s answer to the Enlightenment.
I still fancy Angela as they say there is no accounting for taste. Her honourable resignation following a deluge of right-wing propaganda and slurs, showed a person of the utmost integrity. Of course, relatively speaking, political integrity being as rare as hen’s teeth.
Poor old Rachel is probably a bit of a non-starter. For some inexplicable reason, the public thinks she is useless. Just because unemployment, borrowing, inflation, government spending are all rocketing. Why don’t people understand that it’s all the fault of Trump, Farage, Brexit, Conservatives, Hitler, My Little Pony, and the really nasty actual economics. ‘I had crossed fingers when I promised not to raise taxes anymore, so it does not count!’
What about our NHS Wes, his famous quote comes to mind. ‘Art isn’t my thing, I’ll be honest.’ An honest politician, who could ask for more? And a philistine as well!
So, it is a bit all up in the air in my view. Better the devil?
