The Dickson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a school bus that caught fire with children on board Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, Dickson County Schools bus #5 caught on fire as it traveled on Highway 49 East.
Students were safely evacuated and all were transported home.
Shortly after all of the students were taken off of the bus, it became engulfed in flames.
The Harpeth Ridge Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene and quickly put out the fire.
Authorities have not yet released information regarding the cause of the fire or the extent of the damages sustained by the bus.
This is an ongoing investigation.
