The fuse on Ireland’s migration powder keg is burning low

ONE day historians will mull over the behaviour of our elites in our time of late-stage technocracy as exhaustively as they used to try to discern the causes of the First World War.

What made them do it? Why did they continue, day after day, year after year, election after election, to push their societies towards major civil unrest? What made them turn a blind eye to mass rape, the destruction of their societies through mass migration, the agony of the indigenous people as they felt forced to vacate vast swathes of their countries’ territories, leaving them in the grasp of colonising, hostile cultures?

Between the people and the elites, bridge after bridge was burned, connection after connection severed. Atrocity after atrocity was never looked back upon, let alone in anger.

Bombs, mass rapes, stabbings, decapitations of British soldiers on the streets, in each case the irresistible force of public outrage spent itself on the immovable object of government intransigence.

Surely now this time they would act, they would do something, anything – except they didn’t, unless you count doubling down on mass migration and the religious incantation of ‘diversity is our greatest strength’.

Last week a new low was reached. In echoes of the bad old days, three balaclava and black-clad men, supposedly from the Newry area of Northern Ireland, sat down to the background of an Irish tricolour and announced the formation of a New Republican Movement, targeting elected representatives who were responsible for both swamping their communities with fighting age males from alien cultures and the sexual indoctrination of their children by trans ideology.

Admittedly it all looked more than a bit amateurish: you don’t need to have had military training to know you shouldn’t be standing right behind ‘yer man there’ as he stutters his way through a prepared statement while you point a ‘gun’ in the general direction of his back.

The spectacle was as bizarre as it was horrid: towards the fag end of the troubles, when the IRA split into several different factions, including one called the Real IRA, the Irish comedian Patrick Kielty hilariously complained: ‘There’s the Real IRA, the Surreal IRA . . .’

But Kielty could surely never have imagined something as surreal as a new Irish republican movement threatening a now super-woke Sinn Fein whose once notorious slogan of the ‘Armalite and the ballot box’ had seemingly been replaced by ‘Brits out, everybody in’.

So much for the bizarre, now for the horrid. Because not only did the video go viral but, if the comments beneath this YouTube video by the commentator Derek Domino are anything to go by, such is the mood in Ireland, North and South, that not a few people were viewing the threat of a return to violence in Ireland as positively cathartic.

‘About time’ seemed to be the general attitude.

‘Well, that’s the Irish for you’, a prejudiced Englishman might be tempted to say. In which case, ‘Catch yerself on’, as Ulster folk might reply: the point being that things have reached such an incendiary level that one act of political violence could surely spread throughout not just Ireland and Britain but all of Europe.

Unsurprisingly, the powers that be aren’t listening, but then we have long given up hope that they ever will.

If even Sinn Fein, formerly the party of West Belfast hardmen, have succumbed to believing that women can have a penis, the there is absolutely no chance that our decidedly more effete elites in London and Dublin, Berlin, Paris or Brussels will one day awaken from what Elon Musk memorable described as ‘the Woke Mind Virus’.

But to return to our original question – why? Why, having walked completely off the map, have the elites kept on walking, and having reached the edge of the world, seem about to walk straight off it?

Lots of theories have been put forward why those in power have remained so impervious to basic reason over the past 30 years, ranging from ossified meritocracy, personal vanity and venality, to vast WEF-inspired globalist conspiracies.

However, none, surely, capture the seeming lack of basic desire for self-preservation that our supposed betters now exhibit as European societies hurtle towards violent catastrophe.

No lure of future riches, sinecures or prestige however great would seem to make up for their insouciance when faced with the very real threat of being on the receiving end of fatal political violence. To live in denial is one thing, but to dally with suicide is quite another.

The only real explanation would seem to be that our elites really are insane, stark staring mad.

Addled by addiction, dopamine junkies so spaced out by the mutual congratulation and emotional validation that endlessly loops around their closed social circles, that they simply cannot break free any more than the heroin addict could.

Instead, they carry on enabling the rape of our daughters, the destruction of our cultures, deaf to the cries of agonies of their peoples and the drums of civil war as they reach a deafening crescendo.
