Dear Editor
THE moment someone commits a crime they become a criminal. If caught by the authorities and found guilty that person then has a criminal record no matter how serious or minor the crime.
It is a criminal act for anyone, no matter who, to enter this country without a legal passport. Thus, those arriving here illegally in rubber boats, which is committing the criminal act of arriving without a passport, make themselves criminals by doing so.
Any British subject caught stealing or committing any other crime has to attend a court hearing and if found guilty will be punished either by imprisonment or a fine, depending on the crime.
However, those criminals arriving here illegally are treated like honoured guests and are given accommodation, food, clothes and an allowance as well as being allowed to roam freely in spite of the fact that no one knows who they are. They are treated better than our own homeless who may have done nothing wrong other than hitting hard times.
We have seen many of these alleged asylum seekers showing who they really are by committing serious crimes here after arrival.
In recent times a young hotel worker in my town of Walsall was murdered by one of those illegals, who was a resident, at taxpayers’ expense, in the same hotel where she worked. Why are these dangerous criminal being allowed to roam freely?
Trying to sort the mess of their own and several previous Governments’ creation, we have seen in the news protesting residents in Crowborough as these criminals are now being transferred from hotels to a local military base.
This looks to be the luxury accommodation these illegal arrivals can expect given TCW’s report of notices placed on various buildings indicating a medical centre, a gym and a meeting point for transport.
They will be cared for and free to roam, which is the problem for the Crowborough residents as they do not know who they now have in their mist. They cannot be blamed when they ask the question: ‘Will my children and family be safe?’
It is way past time for pandering to all those who for too long have been abusing our good nature and taking liberties with our traditional freedoms.
It is time to ensure, as with all criminals, they lose their freedom to roam before we start sending them back to where they belong – either to their country of origin or back to France where they came from illegally.
That way, those such as the good folk of Crowborough will feel safe with the arrivals held behind a secure, wired-off enclosure and freedom to roam stopped. It is past time to remove the soft touch welcome mat that encourages all sorts to come here.
