There’s far more racism in no-go Dewsbury than in the countryside

I LIVE in an idyllic village just a 15-minute drive from the wondrous (under-appreciated, if racist) Yorkshire Wolds. Another 15 minutes gets me into the wild North York Moors or lovely Howardian Hills (both also white supremacist/racist).

It’s a tad further to the racist Yorkshire Dales, but well before then I’d be in Britain’s greatest historic city, York, and who can bypass an afternoon (or a day, a weekend) in York?

Do you know what that geography makes me? A white, middle-class, colonial, far-right racist, apparently. Well, according to our very own governmental DEFRA (Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) and the Wildlife and Countryside Link charity it runs.

[Confession – DEFRA didn’t explicitly say ‘far-right racist’ but boy was it implicit in their desperation to Islamify the British countryside. The WCL charity actually did say it was a ‘racist colonial space’].

DEFRA spent £108,000 on a ‘study’ which found the countryside ‘too white . . . middle-class’ and – heaven forfend! – virtually overrun with ‘traditional pubs’ which clearly make Muslims from Pakistan and Bangladesh feel unwelcome.

Several thoughts occur, the first being that I’m sure DEFRA had to spend a lot more than that £108,000 employing psychotherapists for the poor sweethearts traumatised by their study findings.

I confess that driving around winding, darkened country roads for an hour looking for a decent curry house wouldn’t immediately spring to mind, not least because – idyllic village or not – there’s one about 200 yards from where I type this. A Thai restaurant is closer still and the village shop is run by an Indian chap.

I guess we need bigger electrified/barbed wire fences to keep Johnny Foreigner out of our white, middle-class, racist redoubts.

The drivel of these absurd whitewashers doesn’t deserve serious attention. However if they want to talk racist cultural no-go areas let me point them westwards, a mere 40-minute drive away.

I moved my family here from my hometown of Dewsbury in 2008 after my son, in his new high school, was racially abused then ganged up on by Muslim pupils. With me being publisher of the local newspaper and nemesis of disgraced ex-MP Shahid Malik, things weren’t going to improve.

If I never did another good thing for my family, before or since, that move to York redeemed all.

Before Christmas I took a very white and (upper) middle-class friend the hop, skip and jump along the A64 and down the M1 to have a look first hand. Meaningfully, the chap has an elevated position at the heart of one of the UK’s new political parties.

I’ve done this guided tour countless times with authors, Fleet Street/BBC journalists, even a Muslim podcaster who happened to be gay – go figure – though I didn’t mention that when Islamic mobs suddenly descended on us outside the town’s Sharia court. That happens a lot when you get ‘curious’ in these parts.

I showed my friend the rundown, 95 per cent and rising Pakistani areas where rank criminality reigns unchallenged. For more than 20 years they have been unpoliced, violent no-go areas after dark. We then visited the fundamentalist neighbourhoods, home to ‘conservative’ mosques, civic, political and business leaders, the beating hearts of what remains of Dewsbury and Batley’s economies.

I mean, it comes to something when your McDonald’s shuts down after the latest couple of heroin-riddled bodies have to be excavated from the toilets and when your Wetherspoon closes after a car is driven straight through the front of it.

Pubs in the countryside? Dewsbury had half a dozen nightclubs and probably 25 pubs/social clubs within 400 yards of the town hall not that long ago. Today? Two pubs, maybe three at a stretch. And you really don’t walk home at closing time.

And so to revert to the DEFRA issue – why aren’t our national parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty teeming with British Muslims? A random thought, but maybe it’s because they’re just not interested, as opposed to not being welcome.

I won’t hold my breath waiting for any governmental body to spend our money investigating the far more prevalent, extreme racist reverse-cultural reality . . .
