Letter of the week: TCW’s pension shocker

Dear Editor

I was shocked reading the three articles by Chris Philp on pensions.

I agree that the unfairness of the current pension system needs to be made more widely known, and addressed, as soon as possible.

The work of TCW is greatly appreciated.

Dinghy asylum seekers should be held at sea

Dear Editor

A picture is worth a thousand words. This is certainly true of the numerous photos and videos of the migrant invaders rushing to board dinghies in France en route to the UK, the land flowing with milk and honey. One such video showed a disabled woman and her wheelchair. Once in the UK she will jump the NHS queue, be seen by the NHS and provided with a free electric wheelchair.

Emergency legislation must be passed ensuring that immigrants do not get NHS treatment or any other benefits. These Channel invaders, who are mostly young men, should not be allowed to land on British soil but taken to and confined in ships tethered far out to sea until they are processed when most will be found to be not genuine asylum seekers but those looking to milk our welfare state and get housing ahead of the 290,000 UK people who do not have a permanent home.

The other benefit of holding them on ships at sea would be that our women would no longer be molested or raped or murdered by those living unsupervised in taxpayer-funded hotels.

Girls and women have to take their chances with migrants

Dear Editor

Sometimes a single story can tell a great deal about a country. The police giving rape alarms to schoolgirls in the pleasant little town of Dumfries after migrants filmed them is such a story.

It tells everyone that the police know that they can’t protect women and girls from sexual assault. The reason, of course, is that the government can’t vet the migrants and won’t detain them, so they have to put them somewhere, indeed anywhere. The woman and children of towns and cities throughout the country will just have to take their chances.

Nearly all these migrants are males of fighting age travelling without their womenfolk. Most of them are simply economic migrants. The few who have what lawyers call a ‘protection issue’ have all travelled through multiple safe countries. Also, nearly all come from misogynistic homophobic cultures which are incompatible with our society.

A proper government would protect our women and girls by locking up these intruders until they could be sent back to their own country or one of a similar culture.

What was the point of Artemis II?

Dear Editor

What did NASA achieve with Artemis II besides initiating a lot of conspiracy theories about why the astronauts were sent to space on a wildly expensive mission but no longer have the technology to land on the moon? Was it worth it? What did we learn? Was it a distraction from real world events?
