For the first part of the debate jointly hosted by NBC LA and Telemundo, I had to check in with my Red State girlfriend, Jennie Van Laar, on X.

It started out politely enough, but pretty soon the bias was obvious.
This exchange really started it.
Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt fires back after the debate moderator accused him of “name-calling.”
Pratt: “[Karen Bass] an incredible liar…”
Moderator: “I have to interrupt you for a minute. I have to interrupt you. No name-calling.”
Pratt: “She just… pic.twitter.com/bE93kAaFhJ

…Moderator: “I have to interrupt you for a minute. I have to interrupt you. No name-calling.”
Pratt: “She just lied, though.”
The moderator allows Karen Bass to call Spencer Pratt a liar, which he was not, but when he calls out her ACTUAL LIES the moderator interrupts and scolds him and argues with him.
This is how NOT to moderate, @NBCLA. What a friggin disgrace

WOOF
The woman moderating, Colleen Williams, a local anchor for NBC LA, was horrible. She was so horrible, even an opinion writer in the tank for Nithya Raman called them out in the Orange County Register today, although he saw their awfulness in a different light. I will, however, give him props for mentioning a couple of Spencer Pratt’s finer moments, and he had many.
…The moderators were so awful that they even allowed Pratt to do some moderating himself. After consistently allowing the candidates to disregard their directions, Mayor Bass requested a chance to respond to one of Raman’s comments. As the moderators moved on to a different topic, Pratt interrupted and got them to allow Bass to respond. He later did it again.
For a ‘bully,’ the kid sure seems to have manners when they’re called for.
Anyway, I thought there might be a chance that the treatment could engage Spencer’s inner punk and that would certainly lend some spice to the proceedings.
For viewers who had counted on watching on the NBC app, technical difficulties arose that made that impossible.
Agreed, I like how NBC News 4 streaming app isn’t showing the debate anymore, just a “We’ll be right back” message, it’s been 15 minutes.
Talk about election meddling @NBCNews @NBC

HOW PECULIAR
Pretty soon, though, I was able to settle in and watch the live feed from the NBC LA YouTube feed. Worked great.
And, boy, wasn’t I impressed with Pratt yet again. He kept his cool, he was funny, he was full of facts, and he was charming.
Carpet-bagger Raman, who has only lived in the city since 2013, looked especially weak, and then gave the act away when she was forced to resort to the classic progressive default of ‘MAGA Republican’ insult to throw at Pratt.
In one of the most hilarious moments ever, a new GIF was born because of it.
Watch Pratt’s reaction to the flailing Raman as she goes after him, saying that she can’t even respond because he represents ‘a vision’ of Los Angeles that’s, I guess, too awful for her to contemplate.
You know, clean, safe, no more addicts on the streets, and homeless-free.
🔥 Spencer Pratt said he doesn’t want drugs and needles on the streets, he wants to clean up homeless encampments, keep children safe and let citizens decide the outcome of the election…
According to Nithya Raman, that makes him a “MAGA Republican.”

Yeah.
HORRIBLE.
Another viral, excruciating moment happened when Raman tried to claim victim status by declaring that Pratt and Bass were working together to beat her.
The idea was laughable on its face, but Pratt had an answer that totally ripped her pathetic overture for the sympathy vote to shreds, and was also so relatable, the audience had to wonder what Raman was thinking to even broach it.
Spencer Pratt just DESTROYED Nithya Raman who was trying to convince LA that he and Karen Bass are teaming up against her because they have a better chance against each other.
Pratt: “First off, Mayor Bass and I are definitely not working together. I blame this person for… pic.twitter.com/soaac9iZPN

…Pratt: “First off, Mayor Bass and I are definitely not working together. I blame this person for burning my house and my parents’ house and my town and my neighbors down. I am not working with Mayor Bass.“
“Second off, if I wanna run against anybody, it would be the councilmember who is terrible. Mayor Bass has at least been a mayor for almost 4 years and has, as she talked about earlier, the unions, all the unions endorse Mayor Bass. Do you think it’s easier to run against the incumbent mayor with all the unions or a random city council member who’s been a failure for 6 years? I would MUCH RATHER run against Councilwoman Raman! Thank you very much.”
The LA Times review of her performance was brutal.
…At times, Raman was tongue-tied trying to answer simple questions. Moderators kept telling her she was going over her time. Answering a yes/no question about whether noncitizens should be allowed to vote in city elections, the council member went on and on, until the moderator cut her off.
While Raman offered some policy plans and pitched herself as a fiscal hawk, she also played a card straight out of Trump’s arsenal: victimhood. The council member claimed that Pratt and Bass were teaming up against her — an unlikely scenario that drew laughs from the audience and bemused grins from her opponents. She got more and more frustrated as the one-hour debate went on, to the point that when Bass was allowed time for a rebuttal, Raman dejectedly proclaimed, “I haven’t been offered that in a lot of this debate.”
The council member, who had endorsed Bass’ reelection before throwing her hat in at the last minute, came off as inexperienced, touchy and unprepared. Debating is not her forte, and she repeatedly tripped as though she were making her way through a roomful of banana peels.
The line of the night was Pratt dismissing Raman as a “random City Council member” — which is how the L.A. political world responded to her entry into the race. She was so upset about Pratt’s remark that she continued to whine about it to a KNBC reporter after the debate.
The paper scored it for Bass and Pratt. Bass survived by virtue of her political savvy built over years of experience in the public eye, and Pratt?
Well. He kept his cool, was prepared, and was so different from the other two.
But totally true to who people have come to know over the past year.
Colleen Williams asked him in a mocking tone what in his vast TV experience as a reality star let him think he was prepared to handle a budget and city the size of Los Angeles.
Pratt’s answer was immediate.
Actually, he said, I don’t have to.
Foot in mouth by @spencerpratt:
“I’m going to surround myself with the smart people in the world. Actually, I don’t have to balance the budget.” 🤦♂️ 🫨🤯@KNBC #PrattNotSerious #LAMayorDebate pic.twitter.com/BDNd5OQg2N

Beauty.
And it’s not just Republican and conservative media going crazy with the accolades for his performance last night.
The NBC online poll immediately after the debate had Pratt winning with 88% of the voters.

In Los Angeles.
D’oh, that had to sting.
But it means that ghastly ‘MAGA’ vision sure appealed to someone.
It’s crazy how simple Spencer Pratt’s campaign is because of how failed of a city LA has become:
“I’ll enforce the law!”
“I’ll stop the dog abuse by drug addicts!”
“I’ll actually prepare for wildfires!”
Even crazier many voters will see that and say, “No, thanks.”

I’ve got the whole thing below in case anyone wants to check it out or skim through. I know you’ll be impressed, too.
He really is someone to be excited about. And he’s already back on the attack against Bass.
I’m sorry I am now a broken record but oh my God I did not have Spencer Pratt, exposing Karen Bass’s entire communist, revolution history during the race for mayor in Los Angeles.
I mean the best part about this is everything he’s saying is completely 100% true.

So if you don’t know who Karen Bass is, you should watch this video and ask yourself why are there so many Democrat politicians training in Cuba before being elected into powerful positions in American public office?
It sure would be something if he could pull this off.
Wouldn’t it?
