The Tennessee Department of Transportation has announced two meetings to be held in Middle Tennessee to provide information about their 1-24 Choice Lanes project.

TDOT invites community members to two informational meetings to be held in Nashville and Smyrna. They plan to project updates and introduce DriveTN, the developer of the Choice Lanes project.

The meetings will be held at the following locations from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.:

  • Tuesday, November 17, 2026: Trevecca Nazarene University Jackson Center for Music and Worship – Zelma Auditorium  502 Lester Avenue  Nashville, TN 37210
  • Wednesday, November 18, 2026: Smyrna Event Center 100 Sam Ridley Parkway E. Smyrna, TN 37167

Some property owners affected by the project had called on TDOT to provide more transparency and communication in regards to the project.

The announcement of the upcoming meetings comes shortly after another party filed a lawsuit against the state after trying to partner with TDOT on the project. The group claimed that the state failed to release their contract and payment information with the winning bid.

The 1-24 Choice Lanes project will set up a toll road system on 26 miles of Interstate 24 between Nashville and Murfreesboro.

Two additional lanes of traffic will be added to the existing interstate, with drivers having the option to pay to use those lanes. The project is expected to be completed in 2035.

DriveTN has agreed to give $24.8 billion in concessions value to the state over 50 years. TDOT says they expect to earn over $140 billion in revenue over that time period.
