When this letter arrived last week from one of our readers, we thought it deserved what we call ‘stand-alone’ status. Malcolm is entirely right: in these lily-livered days, it is rare to hear a Christian vicar speaking the hard-hitting gospel truth. Like Malcolm, we think Canon Harris’s lambast at Keir Starmer is spot on. We need to hear it from every pulpit in the land.
Dear Friends
I am a retired church leader and am fully aware that we are now living in dark times when, in my opinion, the church is failing in its God-given calling to speak out for truth and the gospel of Christ.
I was encouraged to hear (on X) a powerful message from Revd Canon Fr Phil Harris to Sir Keir Starmer on the subject of Southport and his concerns around immigration and the Government’s response. It is most uncommon, sadly, to hear from Christian leaders on these issues, even on the various non-MSM platforms – TCW is an exception, and I’m very grateful that you include Christian input.
You may already be aware of the Rev Canon’s message but, if not, I’m sure you will be able to access his X output. I was very moved by his words, which you too can watch here.
