Instead of migrants integrating with us, we have integrated with them

IT IS difficult to argue with JD Vance when he stated in an interview with Fox News that Europe is ‘at risk of engaging in civilizational suicide’ by not protecting its borders and allowing millions of migrants in from other parts of the world.
He gave an example: ‘If you have a country like Germany, where you have another few million immigrants coming in from countries that are totally culturally incompatible with Germany, then it doesn’t matter what I think about Europe, Germany will have killed itself.’ He could have spoken of Britain.
Our media focuses on the problem of the ‘small boats’ and smuggling gangs, and our politicians constantly promise to stem the flow. Smuggling gangs do less harm to the country than our elites. The small boats and ‘undocumented arrivals’ are a distraction from the far greater influx of legal immigrants. The population of Britain will reach 72.5million in seven years’ time, with an increase of 4.9million people by 2032 largely due to legal immigration. Can a nation survive such a demographic change?
These are only the symptoms of Western suicide; there can be no recovery unless we confront the causes of our self-inflicted disease.
What is a Nation?
A nation is more than a piece of land marked off by lines on a map. It is more than a seat in the United Nations or an economic zone in global business. A nation is the people who live on that land, who share the same culture, history and traditions. A nation consists of a people whose mutual understanding has develop over the generations and centuries. This shared self-understanding has both emerged from and shaped the language, the stories and songs, the identification with particular events in history, which form the collective identity of the people.
The New Britain
Multiculturalism has failed drastically. Every day, the signs multiply: women wearing full veils, children sent to exclusively Islamic schools, and entire neighbourhoods operating under their own separate rules and legal system. Instead of immigrants integrating to the host country’s way of life, the host country is integrating with the newcomers’ way of life. Symbolically, the King, ‘Defender of the Faith’, hosted Muslims breaking their Ramadan fast in St George’s Hall, Windsor Castle.
Britain has become the ‘Western capital’ for sharia courts, with men able to end their marriages by saying ‘divorce’ three times. Polygamy is so normalised in sectors of the Muslim community that an app for the creation of Islamic wills for those living in England and Wales has a drop-down menu for men to say how many wives they have (between one and four). The app, approved by a sharia court, gives daughters half as much inheritance as sons. It is clear that existing UK laws and regulations are not being properly enforced, especially when it comes to relatively segregated Muslim communities where orthodox Islamic doctrines prevail.
There is a creeping normalisation of Islam as a cultural force. Enshrining the All-Party Parliamentary Group’s definition of Islamophobia into legislation would create a new blasphemy law placing one religion above criticism. Why should British politicians legislate in favour of Islam? There’s a simple reason: it benefits them. Muslim communities throughout Europe are extremely disciplined voting blocs. Whoever controls these communities holds immense political influence. 
The New Aristocrats
The public are being influenced to accept the erosion of our national culture by a three-step process. We are told: (1) that what is happening is not happening at all; (2) that what is happening was inevitable anyway; and finally, (3) that what happened was a good thing all along.
These ideas are propagated by opinion-formers in the media and academia who have no ideological roots or attachment to the nation, its culture, traditions and history. Our elites resemble feudal aristocracy when the powerful held land in differing regions, shared the same language and aspirations, and intermarried to consolidate their power. The elites’ allegiances are always to themselves and others like them.
The old aristocracy had no connection with the masses; the plebs existed to fulfil the needs of the aristocrats. Our new aristocrats may not be dukes and earls, but they still have titles: Minister, Secretary of State, CEO, Director General. These people are just as out of touch with the people they rule. Today’s elites have more in common with their fellow globalist new aristocrats than they do with farmers in Devon, lorry drivers in Coventry or hairdressers in Solihull.
Reconnect With the Faith
If Western civilisation is being dismantled, who is at fault? Those who are undermining the foundations are only the immediate cause. Ultimately, responsibility lies with the creators of Western civilisation, who should be defending it but have abandoned it to corrosive and pagan ideologies.
The West was built by Christians attempting, however imperfectly, to live out biblical principles. Christianity was the only thought system around when our social structures and laws emerged. Today, we have turned our backs on Christianity. If people are abandoning the faith which created Western culture, it is the fault of those tasked with upholding the faith, and the Church has failed abysmally.
Since the nineteenth century the Church has, in most of its forms, accepted the standards and outlook of a rapidly secularising world. Confronted by the Enlightenment, the Church in the West increasingly downplayed the spiritual nature of the core of Christianity in order to emphasise its rational bona fides. Whilst the Christian faith is rational, it is also a living connection with the spiritual reality undergirding creation: our God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is only as Christians embrace this reality that we will have the strength able to withstand the destructive forces around us and reclaim the West.
Only then will the people, as well as the political and cultural elites of our nation, unashamedly identify Britain as a Christian nation. Not that we will be a nation of Christians, rather even non-believers will accept the historical reality that this is a country whose laws and culture are based on biblical teaching. Who we are as a people is bound up with Christianity; if we reject those ties, we are no longer the people we once were, and Britain will be no more.
