RE: Mr Worms’s letter, God did not say that women are second class people. On the contrary, he emphatically declared that both male and female were made in his image (See Genesis 1:27). It is only sin that has distorted the relationship between men and women. In the New Testament, husbands and wives are said to be ‘co-heirs of the grace of God’ (1 Peter 3:7). Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers. (NIV). Other translations have fellow heir, heirs together, co-heir and joint-heirs.
If Mr Worms was thinking only of the god of the Muslims, Allah, as he is called, yes, the Koran explicitly classifies women as inferior.
