The Democrats and the left-wing media are very upset about Donald Trump calling the Democrats crazy…but seriously, they are actually crazy. It’s not just the gender madness, or the insistence that pedophile rapists are aspiring citizens in need of protection, or their fascination with regime-change-loving CIA officers who lie for a living. It’s absolutely everything, including their inability to cheer for our Olympians, and their reflexive hatred of men.

Beege wrote a great piece yesterday, tearing liberals a new one, and I assumed the story would be a one-day controversy about liberals having a tantrum (again). Beege is the perfect author for such a piece because she has a keen sense of the absurd.

Sally Jenkins of The Atlantic kicked off the hate for the men’s hockey team, and the entire left piled on. The men missed the moment because they didn’t trash Trump, America, or even the American flag. They were upbeat, patriotic, and proud of their victory over Canada. They love the troops, for God’s sake!
Publicly supporting women is nice, but what really matters is what men do behind closed doors. What matters is how they hold each other accountable.

Very strange that this attitude about how “this isn’t a neutral climate,” doesn’t apply to Eileen Gu.
They could’ve just as easily written:
“This isn’t a neutral climate. This isn’t a neutral country. And in a world this polarized, the proximity to China carries weight whether Eileen Gu is being intentional or merely naive.”
But no. They write this about the gold-winning US hockey team taking a congratulatory call from President Trump and accepting the invitation to appear at Trump’s State of the Union instead.
I understand how hating America is virtually a job requirement for being a journalist these days, but even a sports journo? C’mon man!
The Olympics are supposed to be unifying. They are, quite obviously, competitions between countries, substituting athletic competition for the more conventional guns and bullets. China may be our most worrisome adversary, and we have warships facing off on hair triggers in the Pacific, but at the Olympics, we can root for America without worrying about a shot being fired.

The media chose to lionize the American who turned her back on her home country to compete for China, and decided to trash the American hockey team because…well, they are men who are patriotic.

Trump celebrated America’s victory on ice by inviting the team to the State of the Union and congratulating them before the Congress, the country, and the world. The media and the Democrats were very unhappy with the team.

Democrats complained that Trump gave Medals of Honor, a Presidential Medal of Freedom, and comfort to the victims of horrific crimes. As Ed pointed out, they couldn’t stand up for Iryna Zarutska’s mom, and wouldn’t even share with Trump the sentiment that government should focus on defending Americans against vicious criminals.

The Spanberger strategy the Democrats want to follow depends entirely on Democrats not appearing as crazy as they are, and it is possible that individual candidates might pull it off.

But the Democrats have a crazy problem, and you can’t just tell crazy people to stop being crazy. Crazy people think they are sane, and not everybody is a CIA operative trained to deceive like Spanberger.

And that is no matter what number of people battled through that nearly two hour speech, it’s still going to be his largest audience of the year. And if you’re sitting in a White House before a speech for any president, you’re thinking about a couple of things. How does the president use that speech to give a message to not just the people in the chamber, but his political allies out there about what they should be talking about, what the agenda is, what the winning message is. And Trump decided to double down on things that are hugely unpopular. I mean, to your point, it was like a three part speech. There was the gross violent pornography part of it. There was the circus entertainer part where he was bringing out unrelated people and vignettes. And then there was a part that was policy-ish. Right? And that was doubling down on tariffs. In the ABC poll, 58 or…I’m sorry. 72% of independents disapprove. And doubling down on immigration and his policies where 58% disapprove. So if you’re a Republican sitting in there, you’re a Republican running for office. That is not a speech that gives you a guide. That is not a speech that helps you out there try to win.
Most Democrats are like Circle-Back Barbie and can’t hide their craziness. Radicals may be able to do it, like a KGB officer or Communist Diplomat, but Democrats as a group are more like Kim Jong-Un or Ayatollah Khameini, and are totally incapable of hiding their inner thoughts.
