The will sacrifice the vast majority of traitors they recruited, leaving them to the whims of the populations they betrayed, as the conspiracy probably hibernates for a period, before beginning again, leaner and more efficient, and probably more professional. If you are to be rid of it, the window will come as it exposes the parts of it that it wishes to be rid of.
