RFK in the Big Pharma stooges’ den

VICIOUS, bullying and relentless: that was the Democrats last week as they grilled Robert F Kennedy Jr during his bid to become head of America’s Health and Human Services (HHS). Ultimately, they were exposed as Big Pharma shills more concerned with their own interests than the health of the world’s sickest nation.

The country’s most wanted conspiracy theorist faced a terrifying inquisition from the Finance Committee composed of 13 Democrats and 14 Republicans. In his 70s, Kennedy is the picture of health while those throwing insults are the opposite. Poor posture prevents Senators Bernie Sanders and Maggie Hassan from sitting up straight. Most senators have pale complexions, perhaps an indication they avoid outdoors and exercise.

Barely any of the baying mob gave Kennedy a chance to respond during the four-hour interrogation, or time to counter their accusations, interrupting him when he tried to speak. Bernie Sanders openly attacked him despite agreeing that the US healthcare system is broken. Kennedy responded: ‘Almost all the members of this panel are accepting millions of dollars from the pharmaceutical industry.’ He alleged that Sanders was protecting his own interests and said he had accepted $1.5million from Pharma. Sanders countered, ‘of $200million!’ – the total he received from all donors to launch his presidential bids in 2016 and 2020. He later tweeted that he had received nothing from Pharma CEOs.

The mob fixated on vaccine preventable diseases such as measles, which was mentioned 25 times, while ignoring the 220million Americans suffering chronic disease. The list is stark: obesity, which afflicts 20 per cent of children and teenagers, depression, arthritis, cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart disease, asthma, diabetes, hepatitis, hypertension, stroke, Alzheimer’s and dementia, weak kidneys. The under-12s are most likely to use asthma drugs and now are being pushed to take the weight loss drug Ozempic instead of being encouraged to eat healthily, under-20s are the age group most like to be prescribed ADHD drugs and the under-60s antidepressants, while half of over-60s are taking statins to lower cholesterol.

William Makis MD, aka @midwesterndoctor on X, was quick to share a list of 12 Democrat senators on Big Pharma’s recent donation list recorded on the site opensecrets. From the mob, Sanders was top with nearly $2million rather than $1.5million. Other recipients were Rev Raphael Warnock ($1.75m), Elizabeth Warren ($1.2m), Ron Wyden ($1.2m) and Maggie Hassan ($500,000). This is just a fraction of the total Democrats have received over the years. Scroll down to see totals.

‘Safe and effective’ was a distressing theme with Senator Tammy Baldwin, who has received almost $5million from the healthcare industry, claiming the country’s post-marketing drug safety monitoring systems such as the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) and v-safe were beyond reproach. Kennedy pointed out that VAERS receives around 1 per cent of vaccine injury reports, and v-safe, run by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have consistently hidden their data from the public and researchers. Highwire presenter Del Bigtree and his Informed Consent Action Network (ICAN) sued to access full details on covid vaccine injuries.

A sickly looking Senator Ron Wyden stated that in Kennedy’s quest to find the truth about vaccines he had embraced ‘quacks and charlatans’ and was chasing ‘money and influence . . . peddling antivax conspiracy theories which would lead to the deaths of children’. Kennedy insisted he was not antivax although he is on the record saying he wishes he had not vaccinated his six children. His mantra when it comes to vaccines that he suspects cause more harm than is admitted, is that we need more safety data.

Kennedy wants to restrict access to the abortion drug mifepristone which Wyden insists is safe but researchers say has caused ‘significant morbidity’, and ‘the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) adverse event reporting system is inadequate and significantly underestimates the adverse events from mifepristone’.

Senator Edward Markey, who has received $2,378,719, falsely accused RFK Jr of causing a deadly measles outbreak in Samoa, echoing Wyden who said the same, but the outbreak was vaccine injury deaths covered up by nurses. Paula Jardine exposed this in TCW in 2023.

Warren, who received over $5million during her 2020 presidential bid, expressed concern that Kennedy had won several law suits against Big Pharma. This is a problem apparently. She worried that he might remove their indemnity which would open them up to ‘mass torts . . . and change court processes to make it easier to bring mass lawsuits’. She suggested that Kennedy’s interest in vaccine injury was purely financial and that he stood to gain from future lawsuits. Kennedy replied that he would ‘comply with all the ethical guidelines’. Later Wyden told the press that Kennedy may have the opportunity to bankrupt vaccine manufacturers, missing the point that if vaccines were not harmful, no one would sue them in the first place.

Former presidents, vice presidents and presidential candidates have all pocketed millions from the pharmaceutical lobby presumably to buy their silence and maintain support for the injurious industry that is the number three killer in the US. Kamala Harris received $11.3million from Big Pharma, Joe Biden $9.1million, Barack Obama $6million, Hillary Clinton $4.6million and Mitt Romney $3.4million. Even Donald Trump accepted $165,000 from Pfizer in 2020 but has since learned his lesson (one hopes).

I spoke with RFK Jr in 2021 and like many others was struck by his openness, integrity and straightforward approach. He set up the campaign Children’s Health Defense ten years ago so that the silenced parents of vaccine-injured children could have a voice. But he is misunderstood, even by his extended family who hark back to his days as a teenage heroin addict, bereft after his father Robert F Kennedy was assassinated in 1968 when Bobby was just 14.

Republican President Trump wants former Democrat Kennedy to make America healthy again and to work out why the most medicated country in the world, and one of the most prosperous, is also the sickest. Around half are chronically ill while nearly a third have multiple chronic conditions. According to 2023 National Health Expenditure (NHE) data, this cost the country a staggering $4.9trillion (£3.95trillion), $14,570 (almost £12,000) per person.

The audience cried out ‘we love you’ while thousands of mums were reportedly outside showing support, praying RFK Jr will be able to step in and transform child health. Kennedy himself was level-headed and honest and talked about how diabetes was rare in kids when he was young and is now an epidemic because 60 per cent of children are fed processed food in schools.

In his opening speech he said: ‘A healthy person has a thousand dreams. A sick person has only one. Today, over half of our countrymen and women are chronically ill. I have promised President Trump that if confirmed I will do everything in my power to put the health of Americans back on track.

‘We have massive health problems in this country that we must face honestly. And the first thing I’ve done every morning for the past 20 years is pray to God that He would put me in a position where I can end the chronic disease epidemic and bring health back to our children.

‘Should I be so privileged as to be confirmed, we will make sure our tax dollars support healthy foods. We will scrutinize the chemical additives in our food supply. We will remove the financial conflicts of interest in our agencies. We will create an honest, unbiased, science-driven HHS, accountable to the President, to Congress, and to the American people. We will reverse the chronic disease epidemic and put the nation back on the road to health.’

Who in their right mind would not say Amen to that?
