Starmer, a weakling in thrall to the Muslims

THE WAR on Iran is not another ill-conceived Western intervention in the Middle East. It has been a long time coming. Unlike the false arguments made for the war in Iraq in 2003 and the ‘Arab Spring’ in 2011, Iran has been a continuous source of instability in the region. Without Iran there would be no Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon or Houthi action in Yemen. Settling the Sunni and Shia factions in Iraq after the Iraq war would have been much easier. And there would not have been the October 7 attacks on Israel.

The regime in Iran is plain old evil. The UK’s and Europe’s obsession with a negotiated settlement is madness. There can be no negotiation with an enemy that wishes to destroy you.

Iran was near building a nuclear bomb. If they manage to get one, they would use it – against us. The Mullahs and their nuclear desires had to be hit.

It was high time the United States and Israel launched their strikes on Iran in what has become known as Operation Epic Fury. The operation rightly targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities, missile sites and military infrastructure. The killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day of action attests to the forethought given to the attack. Iran’s regime will be entirely degraded.

This is a righteous war. One in which the UK should have stood shoulder to shoulder with the US.

Not only did Starmer decline to do so, he initially refused even to allow our ally to use our airbases, Diego Garcia included. A slap in the face to good global policing. Citing ‘international law’ to justify inaction was merely a deflection.

No sooner had he made one of his pathetically wooden speeches to defend our inaction than our base in Akrotiri, Cyprus, was attacked by Iran. Starmer’s response? To send HMS Dragon to the Aegean. As I write she has yet to depart the UK and, assuming she does so soon, will not be at Cyprus for another week. The war may be over by then!

Starmer’s reluctance is driven partly by ideology and partly by fear.

His ideology is one which leads him always to do the wrong thing by the country. He loathes a show of strength. He would prefer taking the knee to standing firm. To be strong would be to project British strength, defining us as a discrete geopolitical force. But he is in contempt of the country of which he is Prime Minister. He does not want it standing tall and proud. He wants it weak and enmeshed in the European non-nation morass of hopelessness.

His fear is driven by the increasingly influential Muslim lobby and vote in the UK. This is the result of mass migration, aimed also at setting us aside as a nation.

Earlier last week Starmer held an iftar (the meal eaten in the evening by Muslims during Ramadan) party in the Great Hall in Westminster. (Why the heck is a British PM celebrating iftar in Parliament?!) Another wooden speech ensued. This time he looked as if he was being held hostage. And what he said, said it all. To rounds of applause, he spoke proudly of the fact the UK had not joined the US in its action. Our foreign policy is being made pandering to Muslims in Britain.

We now have a Muslim political force in the UK so powerful that it can influence our government into not acting against a terrorist Muslim theocracy.

Among those gathered at iftar was the Palestinian ambassador to the UK, Husam Zomlot. When addressing Starmer, he did so not with the deference due from a diplomat to a prime minister but as a headmaster to a school child. Starmer answers to the Palestinians.

Not surprisingly, the US has declared it no longer wants the UK’s help in Iran. It does not need an ‘ally’ joining a war which has already been won. Trump has had enough of us, and who can blame him?

In a matter of a week from the war kicking off Starmer has revealed his paymasters, his anti-British attitude, the ineptitude of our military and broken the Special Relationship.

He might as well put a sign saying ‘The UK Surrenders’ on his forehead.
