An illegal alien was taken into custody in Knox County last month on charges of theft.

34-year-old Armando Antonio Juarez-Arias was arrested on January 2 and charged with theft between $1000 and $2500.

Juarez-Arias was booked into the Knox County Jail with a $5000 bond. A hold was placed for the Blount County Sheriff’s Office for failure to appear on a previous charge of driving with a suspended license.

Juarez-Arias now has an immigrant detainer hold. He will remain in custody until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

The ICE detainer hold most likely means he is in this country illegally.
