A few weeks back, the Financial Times declared that Britain is no longer a global power.
It’s hard to dispute that statement. In fact, the FT was only saying aloud what everybody around the world has been thinking for quite a while.
🇬🇧 BREAKING: UK is no longer a global power, says FT
The UK must accept that its role on the world stage has diminished and it can no longer operate as a major global power, according to a report in the Financial Times. pic.twitter.com/GwTfRB67is

The fecklessness of Keir Starmer puts this fact in harsh relief—Britain took weeks to deploy a destroyer to protect a base that had already been attacked by Iran, leaving it to a Spanish ship to provide air defense. It had to wait because none of its available destroyers were deployable at the moment, and the Navy had to rush repairs to get it out of dry dock.
It took four weeks after the war’s start to get there; it lasted a few weeks, and just arrived back in Britain for repairs.
With this, Birtan has ZERO destroyers out at sea.
Britain only has 6 total destroyers in its inventory of ships…HMS Dauntless and HMS Duncan are in maintenance.
HMS Daring, HMS Defender, and HMS Diamond are in various stages of refits/upgrades alongside testing.

So Britain has no deployable destroyers, which explains this:

A Russian frigate sailed into the Channel this morning protecting some of Vladimir Putin’s shadow fleet oil tankers. Following them was RFA Tideforce, a British Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship.I spent the morning in a fishing boat tracking Putin’s flotilla as it openly…

The humiliation, for a country that once ruled the seas, should be unbearable. Except, we are talking about Sir Keir.
Vladimir Putin has openly defied Sir Keir Starmer’s threat to seize sanctioned Russian vessels by sending a warship to escort them through the Channel.
The Admiral Grigorovich, a Black Sea fleet frigate, accompanied a pair of shadow fleet ships on Wednesday while a British naval vessel followed behind.
Positioned on the Royal Charlotte, a boat almost 10 miles from Dover, The Telegraph observed Putin’s flotilla cruising past the south coast while RFA Tideforce, a Royal Fleet Auxiliary tanker, trailed in their wake.
Last month, Sir Keir gave special forces the authority to capture the armada of rusted ships illegally ferrying oil to support Russia’s war in Ukraine, saying he would hit the shadow fleet “even harder” if they sailed through British waters. However, Britain is yet to seize a single Russian vessel.
The Prime Minister has repeatedly faced criticism regarding the state of the Royal Navy and Britain’s Armed Forces. After an Iranian-made drone hit RAF Akrotiri, HMS Dragon, Britain’s only deployable destroyer, was sent to the Middle East, but took three weeks to arrive and has already had to return to port as it suffers water supply issues.
He had better watch out. Not that I expect a war, but Argentina and Chile have agreed that the Falkland Islands should be handed over to the Argentines. When the Argentine junta seized the Islands, Margaret Thatcher sent a massive flotilla to recapture them; today, Great Britain has 15 surface combatants, and the bulk of them are undeployable.
I genuinely wonder what Starmer would do if Argentina invaded the Falklands today.
Probably nothing.
On the bright side, the humiliation would certainly force regime change in the UK.
Maybe a wake-up call is needed. https://t.co/gbZSXOQiCx

Still, Starmer strides as if he and his country matter in world affairs. When the ceasefire was announced in the Middle East, he rushed to take credit for it.
Keir Starmer: “We just reached a ceasefire”.
We?
WE!??No, they reached a ceasefire. You had nothing to do with it @Keir_Starmer pic.twitter.com/eiBn0J4XXs

You can’t make it up.
Is it any wonder that Trump is seriously considering pulling the United States out of NATO?

I won’t dispute that Trump has been a jerk and even a bully in his negotiations with NATO countries, but, seriously, US presidents have been asking NATO to step up and fulfill its treaty commitments for three decades without success. Another round of asking nicely as they insult us and work to hamper our economy and silence our citizens was not acceptable.
More than 25 sanctioned Russian ships passed through Channel despite Keir Starmer’s crackdown threat. Putin recently said Britain is not a threat to Russia as they can’t even stop rubber dinghies in the channel. And they have an imbecile as a leader that the British people hate. pic.twitter.com/BO5cOyeMWV

They have proven themselves to be fair-weather allies, hiding behind the skirt of the US when they need us, and chastising us whenever they feel empowered to do so.

All the while 10s of thousands of military aged illegal migrants make their way across those waters. Putin is doing more to protect Russian interests in the English Channel than the British are to protect British interests in the English Channel.
It gives me no pleasure to see the British humiliated and broken. I have long had the warm and fuzzies about Britain, perhaps because I admired Churchill and Thatcher. They were excellent allies, and I would welcome a renewal of the “Special Relationship.” I sincerely love the idea of a united Anglosphere.

But geez. Britain is pathetic and has been slowly committing societal suicide. It needs tough love, and Trump is right to give it.

I’m not exactly defending Donald Trump’s undiplomatic style; I wish he were a bit less blunt in public than he is, at least partly because his insults to foreign leaders and jokes about making Canada the 51st state harm conservatives abroad. Alienating the leaders? I’m all for it.
This is absolutely hilarious🤣 🤣
UK PM Keir Starmer is getting WRECKED for taking credit and doing absolutely nothing to help with the Iran Ceasefire Efforts

Intentionally angering the populations they lead badly? What is the point? It seems to be all cost, no benefit. Ask Pierre Poilievre. I think we have to deal with Mark Carney because Trump was a jerk to the execrable Justin Trudeau.
Keir Starmer is lining up the next Brexit betrayal by giving the EU control over Britain’s energy grid.
He is a traitorous snake, an EU puppet who will never stop selling the UK down the river to Brussels.
Labour are reversing Brexit step by step by design. #ReformUK…

But despite that, Trump is right, just as he was right to warn Germany about its energy policies. They laughed at him, but frankly, that is their fault, as is the decline of their economy. Same with Britain, which is covering the countryside with solar panels as its electricity prices skyrocket.

SCOOP: The Trump administration is considering a plan to punish some members of the NATO alliance that it believes were unhelpful to the U.S. and Israel during the Iran war, according to administration officials.
The proposal would involve moving U.S. troops out of NATO countries deemed unhelpful to the Iran war effort and station them in countries that were more supportive of the U.S. military campaign
Europe has needed an intervention in the way that a self-destructive alcoholic needs one—very badly, and right now.
Interventions don’t always work, of course, but taking the easy path of enabling their self-destructive behavior is worse.
