Memphis is a city built on grit, but right now, its families are being worn down by an invisible tax that the politicians refuse to acknowledge. In a video where Steve Cohen criticizes market-based reform, he dismissed President Trump’s healthcare vision as “cruel” and “slavery.”
But let’s look at the Numerical Superiority of his “freedom.”
The $4,176 Prison
Under the “Managed-Care Monopoly” that the politicians defend, the cheapest Blue Cross plan for a Nashville child has become a $4,176-a-year prison. This plan comes with a “deadly” $10,150 deductible that guarantees the insurance company gets paid while Memphis families go broke. If you have an emergency, you aren’t “covered”—you are billed until you reach financial ruin. This isn’t healthcare; it’s a trap built to subsidize insurance company towers while the middle class is forced into poverty.

The $622 Rescue: Better Coverage for 1/3 the Price
Enter the Bergmann/Trump Plan (BTP). While the politicians were busy making children so expensive that people stopped having them, a private, market-based solution has arisen.
The Math: As of April 1, 2026, we can now insure a Tennessee child for just $622 a year using the Allstate Access STM. This is less than one-third of the cost of the Cohen “Obamacare Trap.”
The Protection: This is President Trump’s low-cost Individual Insurance with a $10,000 deductible and 100% coverage thereafter. Unlike the politicians’ $10,150 “Obamacare Trap,” this plan offers a Blue Sky of freedom. It has no preauthorization, and Tennessee children can receive care at the world’s best facilities—like the Mayo Clinic—voted the world’s best hospital by Newsweek.
The $1,378 HSA Dividend
The most shocking part of the political delusion is the vote against the Age-Based Subsidy. Under the plan the politicians call “cruel,” a Nashville child’s actuarial premium is just $622 a year.
The $2,000 annual credit the politicians voted against wouldn’t just cover the premium; it would pay for the insurance in full, leaving $1,378 in cold, hard cash deposited directly into the child’s tax-free Health Savings Account (HSA) at the bank. Steve Cohen spins a $1,378 tax-free deposit into a child’s bank account as “slavery.” Most Memphis parents would call it a miracle.
The Pro-Life Economic Miracle
This isn’t just about insurance; it’s about Saving the Cradle. For decades, the “Uniparty” has used high healthcare costs to tax the American family out of existence. When it costs $4,176 just to insure one child, the “Obamacare Trap” acts as a deterrent to life itself.
By restoring the $622 rate and the $1,378 HSA dividend, the BTP removes the “economic cruelty” forced on families. This is the most Pro-Life policy in Tennessee history because it makes the family unit economically viable again. It gives parents the financial breathing room to choose life and remain independent of the welfare state.

The Choice for Tennessee
Tennessee Conservative News is holding the Fake Media and the politicians accountable. In 2017, the media used Steve Cohen and Jimmy Kimmel to oppose Trumpcare’s age-based subsidies. ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel cried and said that politicians should use the “Jimmy Kimmel Test,” where a child must be able to access the Children’s Hospital of LA, where Kimmel’s son had heart surgery. Trump’s affordable Allstate plan includes the Children’s Hospital of LA as a Member Hospital and passes the Jimmy Kimmel Test, unlike the costly Tennessee Obamacare plan.
It’s time to pop out of the Blind Spot. The Monopoly is over.
