IN a bold open letter to King Charles III before Easter, Bishop Ceirion H Dewar FSHC warned His Majesty of the ‘erosion of Britain’s Christian inheritance’ and urged the monarch to take action. He said he could not remain silent while the Christian foundations of this kingdom were steadily dismantled.
His message clearly struck a deep chord. Unusually for something ‘religious’, it went viral after he posted it online, racking up more than two million views and gaining thousands of signatures of support, nearly 9000 at last checking.
Why has his message resonated with so many people? This is the question that inspired Lauren the Insider to invite Bishop Cei on to her YouTube programme to read out his letter – and, perhaps, to encourage the King to respond.
