Letter of the day – The Conservative Woman

Dear Editor

The legacy media are yet again deriding president Trump for ‘blockading’ the Strait of Hormuz and in so doing driving up oil prices. A few days ago they were clear that the cause of the oil price hike was the laying of Iranian mines making the waterway impassible to tankers.

As I understand it, the so-called Trump blockade is not of the strait itself, but Iranian ports. Bit of a difference here. Tankers are now diverting to American refineries, which of course benefits them greatly, but the world oil price (reported on GB News) is now falling.

On a secondary note, the many Iranian activists in exile are resolute in supporting the actions of Trump. Fair play to GB News in airing the Laleh Tangsiri interview, in which she bravely and so eloquently expressed the fear which for 10million exiles has become part of their daily lives. This is conveniently dismissed by so-called Western democracies in their desire to appease the vile regime running Iran.
