Letter of the week: There are sprigs of hope if you look for them

Dear Editor

The impact of TCW is immeasurable and I add my voice to the many others feeling sad that the day will come when you all move on.  The first time I read the newsletter – way back when – my heart leapt with joy that such voices existed, for efforts were made to have us believe in an unbelievable narrative, and we were also expected to believe that a huge majority also believed an unbelievable narrative.  Thank goodness for you and the whole team of committed people.

However, I do believe that there are now many groups and communities seeking to minimise the impact of ‘the system’ and building new ways of being – My Little Farm being only one such.  There are also other groups where those who still have not accepted that we were lied to nevertheless support and nourish their communities in their own way. My own experience includes a meditation group working within the ethos of the World Community for Christian Meditation but hosted by the local Catholic church. WCCM is, to me, surprisingly open-minded when it comes to other religions, and as I see it, chooses to be a unifying force. Another experience I have is within the local United Reformed Church – an exercise class, from which vantage point I see that church’s commitment to our local community, not limited to those who attend the church on Sundays. Then there are a multitude of voluntary organisations locally, helping provide support to those within the community who need and welcome some support. I could go on! These committed groups will, as I see it, continue to grow and develop and importantly overlap, becoming more of a force to be reckoned with.

My point is, Kathy, that there is a good deal to feel positive about, and – when you have had a good and well-deserved rest – there is more to be explored way beyond the mechanics of a would-be coercive ‘State’. I shall certainly read your substack with interest to see where you turn your attention next!  Wishing you good luck and good health as you move forward.

Left’s shameful reaction to Widdecombe’s death

Dear Editor

On the eve of TCW’s closure, we see the left behaving as spectacularly awful as ever over the news that Ann Widdecombe has died.

It seems our fight has only just begun.

Watch out for Mahmood

Dear Editor

A prediction:When the surface sheen of Andy Burnham is scratched and people realise just how shallow and lacking in true character and ability he is, Labour will be searching around for a replacement who won’t leave them in this situation again.

A dark horse currently walking in the corridors of power will come to the fore as Labour’s internally perceived saviour. Someone who ticks all the right (left) boxes – ethnic minority, non-Christian and anti-Christian, Israel-hating, female, proven in high office, will be the perfect uniting candidate for a powerful Red/Green alliance; an individual to draw together and in hoc to the forces of the Left and Islamism. Should she become Labour leader before the current parliament ends, we will see an engineered end to Britain much quicker that with either Starmer or Burnham. If she is elected outside a Labour government term, she will still be the biggest internal danger this country will face, consolidating the entire Left-leaning and Islamist electorate into one powerful voting bloc.

This will usher in the end days of British Christian civilisation. A self-confessed fervent Muslim, she has publicly stated that her faith comes first and foremost in her life. An indigenous population submerged beneath the weight of foreign immigration and population Jihad, will be subjugated under a neo-Sharia society. It will be Michel Houellebecq’s novel Submission brought to life.

Having fooled the entire political and media classes, as well as most of the country, this most dangerous of politicians would replace the left’s current semi-sanitised Marxism with Islam and Sharia as the dominant cultural and political force in the country.

The menace of e-bikes and e-scooters

Dear Editor

Nearly 39,000 incidents involving e-bikes were recorded by police forces over the last three years. E-scooters are a similar danger. Pedestrians have been hit by both at speed causing fatalities and life-changing injuries. Police forces were not able to identify thousands of these e-cyclists and e-scooter riders since most were wearing face coverings. These e-bikes and e-scooters are being used for crime including robberies, arson, drug-running and more. Lawyer Nick Freeman, popularly known as ‘Mr Loophole’, pointed out that the law is impotent because there is no identification such as number plates. Why have our overpaid politicians not acted and passed legislation to introduce number plates for e-bikes and e-scooters? They should also ban face coverings.
