My TCW week in review: We’ll go out with a bang

IT’S BEEN a difficult week – everyone who read my TCW closing announcement yesterday will understand why. The replies and responses that have been landing in my inbox and posted on the site ever since have overwhelmed me. For once I have no words except to thank you all. They have left me feeling pretty gut-wrenched. And sorry. Not for the decision – I had no alternative – but for the hole readers tell me TCW will be leaving in their lives. The messages from people to say how much they’ve valued the site, to thank me for taking on ‘the tyrants’, and for being so understanding, are still coming in. Once again it confirms to me the traditional decency and generosity of the British, good and moral people often disgustingly maligned or sneered at by the aggressive left woke.

I do want to say to you all, please keep reading till the last day on Saturday July 18, which will be my final look back at the high points of TCW’s life. We started on March 8, 2014, International Women’s Day, with a lambast against ever-moaning feminists. More was never enough. The damage done by feminists and feminism to the family and society just wasn’t recognised for the Marxist ideology it was. It is one the main ‘tyrannies’ or orthodoxies we have taken aim at over the years. But it is the one we have had least impact on, as the dismal truth of ever more babies born out of wedlock and ever more infants separated from their mothers and discarded in daycare is testament to. Thanks to successive governments for their appalling state intrusion into family life. But our onslaught has not fallen on entirely stony ground. The good news is that one former prominent Conservative politician has come round to our way of thinking. Please look out for Sally Beck’s two-part interview with the former Prime Minister Liz Truss next week. Some of you will remember how she committed to family taxation reform in her leadership campaign and took on the trans agenda when Boris Johnson resigned. Now she has gone further in her critique of feminism (and she is right). Here is a taster of her look back: ‘I didn’t understand the threat [of feminism] at the time, and now we have transgender ideology running rampant and kids being encouraged to take hormones that are going to stop them having children, and all kinds of awful stuff. The irony with feminism is that it’s been overtaken by transgender ideology. You have people like Harriet Harman who are allegedly feminist but also believe that men can become women. ‘The left has always had this anti-family agenda, and I didn’t realise how far it would go. It’s extraordinary that we have men trying to go into women’s toilets and everyone thinks that’s acceptable.’ And: ‘I think we need a tax and benefits system that is much more pro-family. I think the Hungarians did a certain amount of that, but I think we need to do it a lot more.’ So no, we don’t intend to go out with a whimper but with a bang. As well as Liz Truss’s political journey from left to true right, look out for an excoriating review by our man in Australia, Paul Collits, of the state of Britain today and how all Roger Scruton’s prescient warnings on globalisation were ignored. From Paddy Benham-Crosswell there will be a review of 12 years of defence betrayal, and our man in the US, Bernard Carpenter, will write on 250 years on American Independence – how its liberty now is hanging in the balance, with Trump valiantly ‘holding the bridge’ against the enemy within.

Our series on parental alienation and the capture of the family courts by extreme or radical feminists continues too. All that and a selection of Alan and Margaret Ashworth’s posts. Then from July 19 it will be over to my @RightTimes substack column, where I will be hosting other writers too. I will end this week with a gentle reminder of failure of the establishment ‘right’ to understand let alone take full responsibility for what’s happened to this country on their watch: uncontrolled immigration, identity politics (feminism, LGBYQ and DEI) capture of the institutions – in effect an establishment-led silent Maoist cultural and political revolution that has broken Britain. When will they wake up to what they have done? When will they apologise? When will they get the moral as well as the political case against their inherent leftism? As John Wycliffe argued so well last week. I will maintain my attack on the ‘I’m all right Jack’ establishment globalist ‘anywheres’ while I have breath in my body. After TCW it will on my new @RightTimes Substack which I encourage you to follow.
