The Tennessee Conservative Staff –

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office arrested two illegal aliens in the last ten days for theft of property and violation of the state revenue laws.

On December 13, 19-year-old Edil Garcia was arrested on felony charges of theft of property valued between $10,000 and $60,000, as well as simple possession/casual exchange. He was given a $3500 total bond and is scheduled to appear in court on January 6, 2025.

Inmate records show that Garcia currently has an immigrant detainer, meaning he will be held until he is released to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

However, this is not Garcia’s first run-in with Knox County law enforcement. Records show he was previously arrested in July 2024 on misdemeanor theft of property charges. An ICE detainer was placed on him at that time as well. The circumstances surrounding his subsequent release back onto the streets are unclear.

Police also arrested 35-year-old Kathea Gisselle Andrade Argueta for theft and violation of the Tennessee revenue law. The specific revenue code violated is unclear. Her bond was set at $50,000.

Argueta’s police records also indicate that she is being held on an immigrant detainer.

An immigrant detainer most likely means that both individuals are in the country illegally.
