Farage will be racing for the jungle exit
Dear Editor
I assume Nigel Farage is on the ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here for the cheque.
But now that he’s had a raw snapshot of the easily-offended, petulant and anti-Brexit voice of modern British society, presumably he’s going to want to swiftly get out of there?

Clearing the XR vandals is a miscarriage of justice
Dear Editor
In April 2021 nine female members of Extinction Rebellion aged between 23 and 71 caused half a million pounds of damage to 16 high-security windows at HSBC Canary Warf’s HQ. They arrived armed with club hammers and large chisels. They were all charged with criminal damage. The case came to court this month when a jury found them not guilty – persuaded against all reason by the nine’s expensive defence lawyers. The Crown spent around £500,000 of taxpayers’ money prosecuting the case. This is a miscarriage of justice and the Crown should appeal because it sets a precedent for any supposed environmental lobby group to steal, smash, and burn if they claim they are ‘saving the planet’. (See TCW report here.)
Who are these people? Were there any electricians, pilots, lorry drivers, factory workers or farmers among the HSBC Nine? No, not at all. There was one artist, however. These people are useful idiots for Extinction Rebellion and the other anti-growth groups whose aim is to bring down consumer society, parliamentary democracy, modern industry, modern commerce, modern transport, modern agriculture, and the centuries old rule of law. In their place they intend to institute a backward-looking green communism where the state decides how people live their lives and what they can and cannot do, according to their voodoo environmentalism and woke paganism.
And as for the Idiot Twelve, words fail me.

COP – the 28th year of broken promises
Dear Editor
There are four types of climate people.
Climate Dictators who tell us what we must do, those who quickly jumped on to the Climate Gravy Train, the Climate Mugs and the Climate Sceptics. Seventy thousand of these Climate Dictators are travelling to Dubai to attend COP28 this week regardless of their huge carbon footprint. Those on the Climate Gravy Train are mainly in the public sector and their large salaries are paid by taxpayers. The Climate Mugs are those who bought EVs, heat pumps and solar panels and belatedly discovered the numerous downsides. The Climate Sceptics were quick to point out that the UK with only 1 per cent of global manmade emissions spending huge sums of taxpayers’ money could never save the planet since other countries have zero intention of reducing their use of fossil fuels, as the breaking of their promises shows. COP28 will be the 28th year of hot air, with China (37 per cent of manmade global emissions) and others continuing to refuse to ‘phase out’ coal or indeed provide a ‘phase down’ date. Countries are now in a ‘phase up’ mode and are in the process of building 1,039 more coal-fired electricity plants.

Why Jews get the blame
Dear Editor
Some people seem surprised that there is a lot of hate in the world. At the moment extreme hatred is directed against Israel and Jewish people. A Jewish playwright, Harold Pinter, explained hatred in The Caretaker – it is easier to blame others than to take responsibility for your own failings. So two billion adherents to the Islamic faith who live in 46 majority Muslim countries tell themselves that if only they could be rid of ‘evil’ Israel and its people everything would be perfect. Their fellow travellers who like to feel they empathise with ‘the victim’ then take on the symptoms of ‘hate by proxy’ – this even includes some Jewish people. How weird is that?
