NFL Player’s Signed Jersey Makes McDonald’s Employee’s Day – HotAir

Here is a sweet story to finish a hectic week in politics. It’s a story that features a NFL player who may or may not be retiring.

Jason Kelce, a center on the Philadelphia Eagles, made a fan’s day during a regular trip to his local McDonald’s. The 36-year-old football player is a regular customer. Employee Danielle Bonham is a big fan. On Wednesday, Kelce delivered a token of appreciation to Danielle. As she took care of his order at the drive-thru window, Kelce handed her an autographed #62 Eagles jersey with an inscription to her. “To Danielle. Go Birds! Thank You!”

Nice.

They’ve established a relationship as she regularly serves him his usual order.

The NFL star frequents Bonham’s McDonald’s location regularly, meaning that she has “had the pleasure of serving the Eagles star a sausage, egg and cheese quite a few times,” per Fox 29 Pennsylvania. She has shared several selfies from various encounters with Kelce, who has been a favorite player of hers “for many years now,” with the Philadelphia Eagles Fan Group on Facebook.

In one post from around Christmas, she shared a photo with Kelce and wrote that the two talked about the holiday and their gratitude for one another.

“I thanked him for everything he does for the community. He turned around thanked me for always being kind,” she wrote. “He said you’re one of the best people that works for this corporation. I almost cried.”

It may not seem like a big deal but it’s something she will always remember and she has a piece of cool swag from the Eagle player.

It’s a nice story for him at a time when his brother, Travis, who is a player for the Kansas City Chiefs, gets all the attention with his girlfriend, Taylor Swift. It must be hard to compete for attention.

Now that his team is finished for the season, there is talk that he may retire. He heads to Orlando next month for the Pro Bowl. He’s bringing his wife and kids so they can take a family trip to Disney World. As long as his daughter, Wyatt, gets to she her favorite Disney character, Elsa from Frozen, all will be well.

“It’s down in Orlando so I get to take my kids and maybe go to Walt Disney World [but] it’s not the Super Bowl Walt Disney World,” he said about the popular post title-winning destination.

He added, referring to one of his three daughters and her love of the movie Frozen: “As long as Wyatt gets to see Elsa, that’s all that really matters.”

He may just go watch his younger brother play in the playoffs.

With his retirement from the NFL uncertain, the 36-year-old Philadelphia Eagles center shared insight about his more immediate plans while talking to reporters during the team’s locker cleanout day on Wednesday, two days after the team suffered a disappointing wild-card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 32-9.

“I don’t know, that’s one of the beautiful things about the off-season, it’s unscheduled,” Kelce said. “So, you know, obviously my brother’s still in the playoffs. I don’t get to watch him play very often, maybe I’ll get an opportunity to go watch one of those games this week.”

It’s nice to have a good story to write about an NFL player when so often they are negative stories these days.
