Press Release –

Alliance Defending Freedom will be hosting a press conference next week on Tennessee House Bill 2100, which protects consumers from de-banking because of their religious and political views.

Background

A high-profile victim of viewpoint-based de-banking, Ambassador Brownback’s non-profit, the National Committee for Religious Freedom, had its deposit account closed by JPMorgan Chase with scant explanation in 2022.

Bank of America has engaged in similar behavior, canceling the account of Memphis-based Indigenous Advance Ministries—a Christian nonprofit that helps impoverished widows and children in Uganda.

These are just two examples of a growing list of de-banking victims.

Tennessee Legislation

House Bill 2100 protects consumers of every political and religious stripe against viewpoint-based discrimination in financial services. Everyone in TN deserves access to basic financial services no matter their political or religious beliefs.
