The cancer surge
Dear Editor
Professor Dalgleish has been a voice crying in the wilderness since 2022 about the distressing surge in cancers. He was met with the response ‘Stop talking about it, you’ll frighten the patients’ from those ‘in charge’.
The government used fear as the core of their strategy to manipulate behaviour in 2020 and 2021. People need to be afraid. Cancer is no longer an ailment for the elderly. It needs to be talked about. It needs to be shouted from the rooftops, as does the cause of the current surge.
Silence is not an option.

Distorted police priorities in Scotland
Dear Editor
Imagine a country where the police investigate muggings and burglary only if it is an open and shut case, and where they ignore most theft including shoplifting, but where they zealously investigate what you say, even in your own home, and even if it is not a crime at all. Oh, and where you can report a ‘hate crime’ in a sex shop. Dystopian science fiction? No, Scotland next month.
Police Scotland are on record that if there are not clear leads, they are not going to investigate a great many crimes. Also, for some time they have been entirely uninterested in shoplifting.
Now with the Hate Crime Act coming into force on April 1, Police Scotland say they will investigate every ‘hate crime’ and record it, even if it is not a crime at all. And yes, that includes what you say in your own home.
And now we know from a recently deleted entry on their website that Police Scotland view young working-class white men with a particular suspicion, because they may be harbouring ideas of ‘white entitlement’.
Nothing less than repealing the Hate Crime Act and police officers being directed to focus on real physical crimes will do.

Dear Editor
Four years ago last night, Boris the Clown Prince of Wastemonster kept a straight face and gravely announced on tell-lie-vision that he was putting us all under house arrest, for our own safety of course, due to a plague afflicting the country. The UK mainstream media were in lockstep fearmongering mode while being paid handsomely by the UK Regime to print full page NHS propaganda adverts daily (what a relief after years of decline in advertising revenue). Frightening figures from ‘mathematical modelling’ by Professor Neil Ferguson said ‘We’re all doomed, doomed d’ya hear me!’
Yet at the same time there was simple, factual data already available from the UK Government’s own Office for National Statistics debunking this. ‘Deaths Registered in England and Wales’ were in fact showing nine consecutive weeks of significantly lower deaths than the historically low five-year average (2015-2019) at the time. 4,800+ fewer people had died than may have been expected when compared with the five-year average, a sudden 3.5 per cent improvement in fatalities. Here is the actual data:
The slight upturn shown in week 12 would not have been known due to the usual delay in publishing this data.
Only after this date did recorded deaths regularly exceed the five-year average, coincidental with the massive rise in NHS morphine and midazolam prescriptions while friends and families were banned from visiting the seriously then terminally ill.
Food for thought.

The Climate Change Committee don’t need advice from experts
Dear Editor
‘The devious Climate Change Committee’ was the heading of a letter last week by Clark Cross. He is quite correct – but he might also have alluded to the three-page letter geologists at the Natural History Museum sent to the CCC five years ago, which you can read about here. https://www.nhm.ac.uk/press-office/press-releases/leading-scientists-set-out-resource-challenge-of-meeting-net-zer.html
The letter was from professionals who know about geology to MPs, who probably do not. It explained why there is not enough of the required minerals for all the anticipated electric vehicles – and never will be.
I expect the chairman (at that time) John Gummer, the Lord Deben, put the letter in the bottom drawer.

Reliable gas and nuclear power or unreliable wind power?
Dear Editor
The climate brigade are upset that the UK Energy Secretary Claire Coutinho has revealed plans for a new generation of gas-fired power stations in the UK to make sure the lights stay on.
As is usual with those who say that the UK must do more to combat climate change, they ignore or are ignorant of what is going on in the rest of the world. Germany will spend €16billion building four major electricity plants using natural gas which is the same gas that greens are trying to ban from 23million homes in the UK. Worldwide electricity generation from coal hit record highs in 2023. There are 2,232 coal-fired electricity plants in the world with hundreds more planned. China alone has 1,142 with another 43 about to start. It will be remembered that at COP26 the president Alok Sharma was in tears when countries refused to ‘phase out’ coal and only would agree to ‘phase down’. They are now in the ‘phase up’ mode.
Would the climate brigade prefer to rely on unreliable wind to supply our electricity instead of reliable gas and nuclear power?

The Westminster extremists
Dear Editor
I had to laugh when reading about the new definition of an extremist group. It seems that the 2020 UK government should be added to the list.
