California GOP Chair Roasts Biden for Fundraising Trip to the State – HotAir

Joe Biden is in California on his third fundraising trip to the state in two months. The Chair of the California Republican Party noticed and had a few words to say.

“Today’s Democrat Party has failed Californians.” That’s an understatement. The mass exodus of families and businesses looking for some relief from Democrat policies proves that. People are voting with their feet.

Joe Biden essentially ignored Hollywood and southern California last year as the SAG and WGA strikes took up most of the oxygen with leftists on the West Coast. Hollywood may not be very excited about another term of Joe Biden in the White House but they are falling over themselves to give him money. They sure don’t want their former friend, Donald Trump back in office. Once Trump ran for office as a Republican, he was suddenly almost friendless in Hollywood.

Our feeble and frail president didn’t get off to a great start yesterday when he tried to walk up the stairs to Air Force One. It’s another reminder that we are one big fall away from President Kamala.

I’ll note here that Jill Biden went in the opposite direction. She went to Connecticut to raise money. If she is going to insist that Biden run again in his rapidly deteriorating condition, she should accompany him as he travels. He does not do well on his own.

Biden’s hosts for one fundraiser each tested positive for COVID-19. Haim Saban and Casey Wasserman missed their event at Saban’s home. The White House keeps strict testing protocols in place for anyone who comes in close contact with Biden. The White House still has strict testing protocols in place for anyone who comes in close contact with the president. At his age, he is cocooned as much as possible by those around him.

Both Saban and Wasserman were scheduled to give remarks. A well-known support of Israel, Saban was to talk about the situation in the Middle East. Each had planned to speak about their gratitude of Biden’s support for Israel in its war with Hamas.

Participants in the deep-pocketed event are all being tested before the president’s arrival at the Saban residence, which is expected soon. Other luminaries at the event include Jane Fonda, ITV America boss Adam Sher, and Jeffrey Katzenberg. Katzenberg is serving as campaign co-chair.

Coming straight from DC, Biden arrived in Los Angeles at around 3:30 p.m. PT, then was scheduled to attend a VIP reception before delivering the remarks at the event. Tickets started at $3,300 per person and rose to $250,000 for the co-chair level.

Among those also signed on to the event are John Emerson, former U.S. ambassador to Germany, and his wife Kimberly Marteau Emerson; attorney Cliff Gilbert-Lurie and Leslie Gilbert Lurie; developer Thomas Safran; Bob Daley and Carol Bayer Sager; Eric Baker, co-founder of StubHub and co-founder of Viagogo, and Dr. Nicole Baker; Martha Leon De La Barra, global vice president of construction NeueHouse at CultureWorks Group, and Matt Crowley; attorney Carol Hamilton and David Khon; attorney Alicia Minana; California Democracy Fund founder Nicole Mutchnik; and Howard and Stephanie Sherwood.

Lunch Bucket Joe is hoovering up big-time Hollywood money. He is giving a speech in Culver City today before traveling to San Francisco. I wonder if Governor Gavin Newsom sanitized the president’s travel route as he did when Chinese President Xi visited the city. Homelessness and drug use are rampant in the Bay Area, as is crime. Newsom’s policies are working out great.

Biden’s campaign is boasting about its fundraising success.

Going into the trip, Biden’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee announced that they had collected $42 million in contributions during January from 422,000 donors. Biden ended January with $130 million in cash on hand. Campaign officials said that is the highest total amassed by any Democratic candidate at this point in the cycle.

Biden campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez called the haul “an indisputable show of strength to start the election year.”

“While Team Biden-Harris continues to build on its fundraising machine, Republicans are divided – either spending money fighting Donald Trump, or spending money in support of Donald Trump’s extreme and losing agenda,” she said.

Desperate Democrats don’t have much choice but to donate to Biden. Biden has no real competition. The only hope of getting rid of him and putting someone that voters want to get out and vote for would have to happen at the Democrat convention this summer. If something happens and Democrats convince him to step down (they won’t) then Governor Gavin Newsom is ready to spring into action. His shadow campaign has been strong and his ego tells him that he should be president.

During the campaign reception at Saban’s home, Biden reassured the donors that everything is fine, he knows what is going on. Think about that. The president has to reassure donors that he’s up to the job. He said, “I may not run as fast as I used to. I may not be able to play flanker back at Delaware. But I tell you what … I’ve been around long enough to know what’s going on.” Does everyone feel better now?

Republicans have to come up with a good response to the abortion issue in this campaign. Biden told the attendees that Trump will ban abortion nationwide. He said that Republicans want to undo Obamacare. And, he said a Trump victory will cause deterioration in America’s reputation on the world stage.

What a joke. Trump is in favor of a more lenient abortion law than the fetal heartbeat laws passed in red states. Trump and Republicans did not undo Obamacare in his first term so what makes them think he’ll do it in a second term? As for the world stage, Joe Biden is a laughingstock. There was a whole lot of projection in all that.
