Kathy’s TCW review of the week

WILL last week turn out to be the one that marked the beginning of the end of trans madness? That question has been on my mind since the ‘landmark’ Cass Review was published on Wednesday. I am not holding my breath. That ‘thousands of children have been let down by the NHS’ was surely an understatement of the first order. Let’s call a spade a spade. Mutilated and/or otherwise subjected to the grossest of human experimentation, chemical coshing and social conditioning more like. Thank goodness for fearless J K Rowling who takes no prisoners. She went on the attack this week and is unforgiving. Rightly so. (When did we think Nazi-style human mutilation and experimentation was OK?)  She does not think it is over. Nor do I.

The NHS is brazen. Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital is taking over where the Tavistock Clinic left off, in the most ‘in your face’ timing.  Would you believe, it opened a new gender clinic for children last week, just days before Cass. A typically useful fool of our dangerously woke times, David Bradley, chief executive of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, assures us: ‘There is an overwhelming need for improved and expanded gender services for children and young people.’ Really? He is still drinking the Kool-Aid. Supply creating demand can only add to the ‘ridiculous’ (as Laura emailed me) size of ‘mental health’ benefits claims, cited now in 69 per cent of universal credit health benefits, up only 400,000 last year, you’ll be pleased to hear, most deemed unfit for any work. Another excuse for more migrants. What was it that Churchill said? ‘Healthy citizens are the greatest asset any country can have.’ Well, we have been investing in the reverse for the last 40 years. Can you see many of these poorly folks signing up to fight the war Lord Cameron is urging on? We had better, as Paddy Benham-Crosswell advises, start stocking up on white flags.

Coming back to Cass: there’s also the question of why the hell this review has taken so long. Four years in the writing, as Dr Tom Goodfellow pointed out on Friday. And many more years since comprehensive evidence was published showing that sexual reassignment surgery had cruelly failed on its promise, and years since, as Tom detailed, the American College of Pediatricians declared this ideology was no less than child abuse, given ‘the lack of evidence used to support clinical management of such children’.

Yet despite all this and through these years it’s not just angry activists or the BBC who’ve pushed this perverted revolution along but politicians too, and Tory ones to boot. They must take responsibility for institutionalising the ideology. Over eight years ago we warned of the Tory MP Maria Miller and her dangerous idiocy in pushing transgenderism. As ‘chair’ of the Women’s and Equalities Select Committee she fell hook line and sinker for the line taken by trans activist group Mermaids. Simon Marcus alerted me to the subversive elements in government just months later. He warned then that Justine Greening, who was promoting a new ‘gender’ agenda in the Department for Education, must be stopped from pushing transgenderism on children. Others last week may have been congratulating themselves for being on the case but we at TCW have been there from the start, particularly on the Conservatives’ very unconservative attraction to this insanity. Notable amongst our brave campaigning writers were Caroline ffiske and Belinda Brown. Caroline put the woefully irresponsible and woke Penny Mordaunt on notice when she stalled on her promised inquiry into what we knew to be a ‘trans crisis’ five years ago. She went on to expose Equalities Minister Mordaunt’s irresponsibility and procrastination here.

Belinda has made it her mission over the last five years to expose the powerful (in Parliament and elsewhere) LGBT lobby’s (not least Stonewall) pernicious and perverse influence in the Department for Education and on school sex education. Her more recent investigation into the extent of the grooming and indoctrination scandal unleashed by the government’s introduction of Relationships and Sex Education you can find here. This has all happened on the watch of Conservative administrations who have failed in their first duty of safeguarding children. Labour of course will be no better.

Articles like these you won’t find elsewhere. Properly researched and evidenced, at TCW we have had no hesitation in naming names and attributing responsibility, unlike other outlets which purport to take a tough line on the ‘culture war’. Stuff, in our view, does not just ‘happen’. If you fail to name the culprits who allow or make things to happen, as we have with Dominic Cummings this week, you are failing in your fourth estate duty. It’s too easy just to say ‘those’ who imposed lockdown should be jailed, when we know who did. Sometimes I think we at TCW, with very limited resources, are the only outlet doing this job of holding politicians and their advisers to account. When Stella Creasy advocates ‘abortion to term’ (another euphemism that Donald Trump this week correctly described as baby execution), simply reporting it without judging it is to let her off the hook. Evil must be called out. At least former US President’s speech on this matter was one of the good news ‘happenings’ of the week that I like to find to end on. He didn’t dodge the bullet. You can watch his impressive and sensible statement here.

More good news is Pope Francis finally seeing the light on ‘gender’. With serendipitous timing the Vatican has just woken up to the fact that ‘sex change intervention risks threatening human dignity’. It’s a light in the darkness. If the Catholics start to get this right and preach against this evil, perhaps this last week will indeed mark the beginning of the end of this terrible cult.
