It’s worrisome that some school board officials in Rutherford County and the City of Murfreesboro demonstrate a lack of circumspection and good judgement concerning violence.
Several inflame the issues surrounding the academic and physical welfare of our children, as minors seem to come second to their self-absorption, turpitude, and political flamboyance, while others prioritize school construction over building the character of our kids.
Major school violence incidents in the USA reached an all-time high (83) during 2024 with the horrific events in Madison, Wisconsin this past Monday.
Closer to home, we’ll never forget the nine-year-old student and three staffers at the Covenant Christian School in Nashville reportedly killed by a girl whose “manifesto” about “transitioning” was kept secret by a WOKE Chief of Police who refused to be truthful with the people he serves.
Tennesseans and their school boards are dealing with the implementation of the new schoolbook obscenity law, some boards dutifully and some not.
Safety should be in the forefront of all school board decisions and should be made without Inflammatory statements and characterizations of citizens who oppose their voting decisions. The debate on either side of the law’s implementation has been spirited, although morally explicit!
However, there seems to be an ominous ratcheting-up of rhetoric suggesting a turn in the struggle toward kinetic confrontation. This suggestive and confrontational rhetoric is coming from an unexpected source, some of the elected school board members themselves!
Several weeks ago, Rutherford County School Board Members Butch Vaughn and Stan Vaught gave media interviews referring to the supporters of removing obscene books from school libraries as reminiscent of 1930 German book burners: an inference of Nazi violence.
This type of analogy doesn’t just conjure up thoughts of the violence in 1930s Nazi Germany, but it fast-forwards that history and its implications of violence to contemporary Rutherford County, in this context, to the public chamber of the School Board here… and the City of Murfreesboro!
Last Wednesday, many members of our community, joined with Turning Point USA, and nationally renowned child advocate, Pastor John Amanchukwu to attend the City of Murfreesboro School Board meeting.
As expected, Pastor John was shouted down by the liberal democrat chairman Butch Campbell who deemed the pastor’s remarks about an immoral gender confusion book “out-of-order”. What wasn’t expected was, what I believe to be the flamboyant, intentional display and not-so-tacit advocacy towards violent confrontation by the board’s vice-chair “Jimmy-boy” Richardson… the third.
“Jimmy-boy”, who wears his Catholicism and membership at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on his sleeve, was wearing a tee-shirt, emblazoned with the statement, “Ban the Fascists. Keep the Books”. He quite aggressively approached attendees in the audience, got within inches, then pulled open his blazer jacket thrusting himself and his message of thuggery in-the-face of several TN Christian citizens.
Many attendees also noted a continuing thread of his aggressive confrontational theme and attitude noting that his laptop on the school board desk was embossed with a sticker which read, this machine kills fascist…by extension and in conjunction with his tee-shirt he seemed to be engendering a kinetic confrontation with those Christians in attendance, those with whom he disagrees.
Had he raised his hand in any threatening manner, in my opinion he would have completed all the elements necessary for a criminal assault charge on Karen England, founder of capitolresoure.org.
So, it seems the devil has no political preference as most of the Rutherford County School Board are RINO Republicans while all but one of the City of Murfreesboro School Board members act like liberal democrats while calling themselves “independents”.
Seems both boards are singing “California here I come” as they appear to champion obscene books for our kids. It’s no wonder, after all, our kids to some of them are just the offspring of a bunch of German Nazis and Italian Fascists!
These are the “guardians” into whose hands we place our children? God Help Us…more importantly our children!
