This makes sense to me.
If you want to “defend democracy,” the best and perhaps only way is to prevent anybody who disagrees with you from going before the voters.
81% of Democrats Want Trump Banned from Ballot: Pollhttps://t.co/4yUbGUcOcn

If you think about it, the fact that the number is only 81% is rather shocking. Does that 19% of Democrats who think the American people should be allowed to vote for the candidate of their choice hate democracy?
Reeducation camps for them!
President Joe Biden is currently traveling the country alternately mumbling and shouting about how Trump and his voters are a danger to Democracy. With 75 million new Confederates out there, taking Trump off the ballot seems like a very modest step. Perhaps Biden’s and the Democrats’ commitment to preserving Democracy is too mild. They could go much further than simply stripping the voting rights of these insurrectionists.
Instead, perhaps they should try to put the former president in jail. Or label his supporters “domestic terrorists?” Or go after the thousands of people who peacefully protested OUTSIDE the Capitol and prosecute them?

Oh, wait…they are. Good. Preserve that democracy good and hard. We need more of this sort of thing.
Elections themselves are kinda problematic if you think about it. What if the wrong person wins? We could cancel them, given that loosening ballot security to the point of meaninglessness doesn’t yet guarantee that Leftists (I mean Democrats…I mean supporters of “democracy”) don’t always win.
With elections, you have “election deniers,” and such people undermine faith in our overlords. We can’t have that.
Oh. Here’s 10 minutes of Democrats denying election results.

That pesky provision of the Constitution that states run elections should be ignored, and the whole thing should be nationalized. Oh wait…they are trying to do that too. Good!
Cuba knows how to do elections right. Or Venezuela.
And, if you think about it, the name “United States of America” is problematic. First, until we suppress the antidemocratic elements of our society, we aren’t really “united.” And that whole federalism thing was a serious mistake, so get rid of the states part. And America really should be renamed “Turtle Island,” as the DEI activists insist, because settler colonialists stole the land…
We could rename the country the People’s Republic of Turtle Island!
Think of the possibilities.
